Overview

Apply the same action to a page and all its child pages at once, and keep the labels of a space tidy.

  • Watch or stop watching a whole page tree.
  • Add or remove labels on every selected page.
  • Copy a page tree under another parent page, with or without attachments, labels and restrictions.
  • Label manager for spaces: rename a label, merge it into another one, or remove it everywhere.

Getting started

  1. A Confluence administrator installs the app from its Atlassian Marketplace listing.
  2. Open a page, open the More actions (•••) menu at the top and select Bulk actions. Depending on your Confluence version, app actions can be grouped under an Apps entry in that menu.
  3. For labels across a whole space, open the space settings and select Integrations → Label manager (space administrators).

Bulk actions on a page tree

Choose the pages

The dialog selects the current page as soon as it opens. Turn on Include all child pages to include every page below it; the number of selected pages is shown next to the switch.

Watch

Select Watch all or Stop watching all to start or stop watching all the selected pages. It changes your own watches.

Labels

Fill in Add labels (comma separated) and/or Remove labels (comma separated), then select Apply to selected pages. Confluence labels cannot contain spaces; use hyphens instead.

Copy tree

Available on pages. Enter the Destination parent page (URL or ID), an optional Title prefix, choose Copy attachments, Copy labels and Copy restrictions, and select Copy page tree. Confluence copies the pages in the background and the dialog shows the progress.

Progress and results

Pages are processed in small batches with a progress bar. Pages you are not allowed to change are skipped and listed, not silently ignored.

Label manager

The Label manager lists the labels used in the space. Select a label and Manage:

  • Rename / merge: type the New name (or an existing label to merge into). If the new name already exists, the two labels are merged.
  • Remove from all: removes the label from every page and blog post of the space.

Moving from Bulk Action Tools

Atlassian ends support for Connect, the platform used by Bulk Action Tools, on 31 January 2027. This app is built on Forge and runs on Atlassian's cloud.

Nothing needs to be migrated: neither app stores data. This app covers watching and unwatching page trees, adding and removing labels, renaming, merging and removing labels in a space, and copying page trees.

Bulk move, delete and rename of pages are not part of this app. Confluence Cloud can move a page with all its child pages, and archive pages in bulk.

Both apps can be installed at the same time, so you can try this one before you uninstall the other.

Other app names on this page are trademarks of their owners. This app is independent and is not affiliated with them.

Limitations

  • Every action runs with your own Confluence permissions.
  • Watch changes only your own watches, not other people's.
  • The copy destination must be a page where you can add child pages.

Permissions

ScopeWhy
read:page:confluence, read:hierarchical-content:confluenceFind the selected page and its child pages.
read:space:confluence, search:confluenceFind the labelled content of a space.
write:confluence-contentChange watchers and labels, and copy pages.
read:confluence-content.summary, read:confluence-space.summaryFollow the status of background copy tasks.

Data and privacy

The app stores nothing: every operation runs directly in Confluence with your permissions, and no data leaves Atlassian. See the privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

Some pages were skipped

You do not have permission to change them, or they are restricted. The result list shows which ones.

The app says it needs an active license

The app is paid and checks the license on every request. Ask your site administrator to check the app's subscription in the administration of Jira or Confluence (Apps → Manage apps). During a free trial the app works normally.
